Carolina Crisp – Chatham Cider Works, Pittsboro, NC

Our wine tonight is the Carolina Crisp from Chatham Cider Works in Pittsboro, North Carolina.

Straw in color, perhaps unpolished gold.

Label describes as effervescent, though we’d call this more of a sparkling. It’s bubbly!

Nose and taste are spot on with notes of freshly picked green apple.

True to it’s claim, crisp with a tart finish.

6% ABV.

We picked up this bottle at Fair Game Beverage Company next to the Cidery and which serves as the cideries tasting room.

UNTAPPD rates this cider at 3.48.

We scored this one in the Silver Medal range.

From their website About Us page:

We make small-batch hard cider in Pittsboro from North Carolina apples.

We work with local apple growers to source the apples that give us the complex, satisfying flavor of a traditional hard cider.
